Blog #7

This past summer was filled with road trips, concerts, and a family trip to the beach. This summer was a big deal for me because it was my last summer living at home and last summer before starting my new life in College Station. `

In the beginning of summer my friends Aubrey and Josef decided to surprise me and take me to see one of my favorite bands in Terrell, Texas. The band was the Josh Abbott Band and all of us were really excited to see them, the three of us always went to their concerts and it would be the fourth concert of theirs to go to as a group. It wasn't a long drive, only two hours but with the rain it felt like we were never going to get there. We somehow managed to get there early though and that's when Josef told us how he got us meet & greet passes. I was over the moon excited. Meeting Josh, Caleb, Edward, Jedd, James, and my favorite Preston was an awesome experience and having them say we would be front row for the show made it that much more special. The concert begun and we sung every song and every lyric we could making sure we did the concert the right way. We left with our voices gone which we took as doing it right. Overall. from meeting the band, to being front row, and just road tripping with my two best friends made it the perfect way to begin my summer.

Towards the end of summer it was time for the annual family vacation that my moms whole side goes on every summer. This year my grandpa chose to go to Pensacola, Florida and rent a beach house there for all 13 of us. What was meant to be a eight hour drive turned into a 10 hour drive due to all the stops we made along the way, which at the time was worth it but once we would get back in the car we would just get sick of them. After arriving at the beach my aunts told all the cousins what we would be doing in the seven days that we would be there, some of those activities included shopping, parasailing, jet skiing, dolphin boat tours, family dinners and just long days at the beach. My favorite thing we did was the one thing we didn't have planned, all the cousins went to dinner together, went shopping, drove around in the jeep and just explore the island. Spending quality time with my cousins and sister was a big thing for me on the trip because for the first time in 18 years I would be away from them, being the oldest out of the seven of us I was the first to leave.
